How to report an error
Email contact@newsleash.com with the headline or link and what you believe is wrong. If you can, include a document or source that supports the correction. We review every request.
How we correct
- Factual errors (names, ages, dates, charges, quotes, numbers): we correct the story and add a note at the bottom stating what changed and when.
- Serious errors that could harm a person’s reputation or safety: we correct as quickly as possible and, where appropriate, remove the affected material while we verify.
- Typos and minor style errors that do not change meaning are fixed without a note.
- Case updates: when a charge is dropped, reduced, dismissed or ends in acquittal, we update the original story so it does not leave a misleading impression.
Requests to remove or update a story
We do not remove accurate stories simply because they are unwelcome, but we take requests seriously, including requests to update a story after a court outcome. Send the request and any supporting court documents to the same address.
Timing
We aim to review reported factual errors promptly and to publish corrections or updates within 24 hours of verification whenever reasonably possible. Significant corrections are disclosed transparently on the affected article.
